Lots of people think Career Development is all resumes and mock interviews, but the Office of Career Development (OCD) at Rollins has something for everyone! Here are some ways the OCD can help you:

Are you unsure about your career path?
There are a lot of paths in public health, or maybe you’ve decided a more public health-adjacent path is right for you. The OCD offers general career counseling sessions for students to talk with a career consultant about their goals, skills, and interests. Career counselors can offer advice and connect you with current alums for informational interviews.
Are you a non-traditional student?
If you took time off before coming back to school or if you came from a non-public health background, your career development needs will be different from those of traditional students. The non-traditional students group at Rollins has been working with the OCD to develop workshops and events catered to the specific needs of non-traditional students! Look out for these events on Handshake.

Networking and Student Organizations
The people in the OCD are very approachable and always willing to help students put their best foot forward. If your student organization wants to host a prominent public health speaker or learn how to help their club members network properly, the OCD can help! The OCD can connect you with Rollins alums or help you figure out who you need to network with.
Workshops, Resumes, Cover Letters, Interviews, and More!
And of course, the OCD offers workshops, resume and cover letter reviews, mock interviews, and more. Career Development workshops cover it all: salary negotiations, the job search strategy, behavioral interviewing, and even company-specific interview prep workshops.
Resume and cover letter reviews can be done during career development’s walk-in hours each week or you can set up a meeting with a career coach for a more detailed critique.
