Hi everyone! My name is Karina Serrano (she/her/hers), and I am a second-year Health Policy & Management MPH student on the Health Policy track. I recently graduated from the University of Houston in May 2021 with a B.S. in Public Health and a minor in Health Communications. Throughout undergrad, I was involved with a global organization called MEDLIFE that was formative in my decision to pursue public health as a career. My interest in policy stemmed from my appointment as a cancer disparities research fellow at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas. Now I can apply my passion for addressing health disparities through my consulting internship at Myers & Stauffer LC. I am delighted with my decision to attend Rollins, and I am always grateful for the support and opportunities available to students. In addition, I enjoy trying new coffee shops and exploring Atlanta during my free time!
