Public Health Media Recommendations

If you’re anything like me, you love to curl up with a good book or movie, especially as the temperature drops. And why not get the best of both worlds by using this time to learn more about public health? Here are my recommendations for podcasts, books, and other forms of media that can help you stay engaged with recent developments in public and global health!

This podcast is created by the One Health Trust, where I work as a Communications Associate!

TV Show/Movies

Monsters Inside Me: YouTube series about patients with strange and/or rare parasitic infections

Contagion (Hulu): If you’re in class at the Rollins School of Public Health, you’re likely to hear at least one professor refer to this movie. That’s because it’s considered to be one of the most accurate depictions of infectious disease outbreak responses, and became especially relevant when the COVID-19 pandemic emerged.

Pandemic: How to Prevent an Outbreak (Netflix): Documentary series highlighting the work of public health and healthcare professionals fighting on the front lines against influenza
